- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects
- Manage project budgets and provide regular financial reports, forecasting costs and identifying potential savings or overruns
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure cost effective procurement
- Monitor project expenditures, perform cost value reconciliations, and ensure accurate allocation of costs
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify claims, and ensure alignment between actual construction and planned financial targets
- Prepare, analyze, and manage tender documentation and contract terms in coordination with legal and procurement teams
- Administer contracts and manage change control processes, including variations, claims, and final accounts settlement
- Support project risk management by identifying potential cost risks and implementing mitigation strategies
- Provide advice on contractual matters, cost control procedures, and procurement strategies to project stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines
- Work closely with the Resident Engineer and construction team to assess project performance and align financial goals with construction timelines
- Maintain accurate records of all contractual and financial project information for audit and reporting purposes
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying and cost management within the construction or engineering sector
- Proven expertise in cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and commercial project management
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing trends
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- Proficient in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, WinQS, Candy) and general project management tools
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
- Professional membership or certification (e.g., MRICS, RICS, CIQS, or equivalent) is highly preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract is an advantage

About the Role
- We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team at a leading engineering consultancy firm.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts.
- This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of construction economics, and extensive knowledge of cost control practices within diverse project sectors including healthcare, commercial, residential, and industrial developments.
- As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered within budget, while maintaining quality and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
