About the Role

  • Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Mechanical Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy firm.
  • Focus on on site management and implementation of mechanical systems for high profile construction projects.
  • Ideal candidate has extensive experience in mechanical system installations and ability to oversee site activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise installation of mechanical systems on site including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection.
  • Ensure all mechanical works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, local building codes).
  • Perform site inspections to ensure mechanical installations meet quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and consultants to address technical issues.
  • Review and approve subcontractor shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
  • Monitor and control site progress to ensure timely completion of mechanical installations, testing, and commissioning.
  • Provide technical support during site meetings.
  • Ensure all mechanical installations are tested, commissioned, and fully operational before project handover.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports regarding mechanical site activities, progress, and issues.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities to ensure compliance with local codes, permits, and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout installation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • 10 to 12 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare specific mechanical systems including HVAC, medical gas, fire protection, and plumbing.
  • Experience supervising mechanical installations and ensuring compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, and local regulations.
  • Proficient in reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.
  • Familiarity with mechanical system testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
  • Ability to manage site activities effectively, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and resolve issues quickly.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in construction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Membership in a professional engineering organization (e.g., ASHRAE, IMechE) preferred.
  • Experience working under FIDIC or other standard contract forms is a plus.
