Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

Requirements for the Role

• Professional working proficiency in English is required; Arabic is preferred.
• Technical knowledge of web fundamentals, HTTP, headers, cookies, tokens, caching, and frontend, backend, and data defects.
• Ability to investigate defects using browser developer tools, device logs, and API responses.
• Ability to design tests covering edge cases, permissions, invalid input, interrupted flows, and weak or offline networks.
• Ability to produce precise defect reports with reproduction steps, environment, severity, priority, evidence, logs, and API details.
• Ability to evaluate design quality and identify layout, state, contrast, tap-target, and breakpoint issues.
• Ability to assess release readiness using evidence.

Testing and Coverage

• Perform manual and automated testing across web, Android, iOS, admin, vendor, and API platforms.
• Write and maintain test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and regression suites.
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, system, and UAT testing.
• Perform full regression testing before production releases and issue release readiness reports.

Technical Validation

• Perform API testing for authentication, authorization, errors, pagination, and payload validation.
• Test authentication flows, OTP, 2FA, sessions, token expiry, and role-based access control.
• Perform SQL database validation to compare displayed and stored data.
• Validate analytics and tracking events, third-party integrations, and provider failure paths.
• Identify basic security and authorization issues and conduct basic performance and load testing.

Automation and Platforms

• Develop and maintain automated scripts for regression and critical user journeys.
• Maintain automation suite stability, resolve flaky tests, and support CI/CD execution.
• Test macOS, Windows, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, and multiple physical iOS and Android devices.
• Validate builds distributed through TestFlight, Firebase App Distribution, and store release channels.
• Validate Arabic and English localization, including right-to-left layouts and formatting.

Process and Collaboration

• Manage defects through their full lifecycle in Jira from reporting through retest and closure.
• Record the environment in which each defect was found.
• Work directly with Product, Development, DevOps, and Design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance covering manual and automated testing.
• Experience with all listed tools is not required; depth in several tools and ability to learn others is sufficient.
