Role overview

Lead project management commissions for complex building projects across public and private sector clients.

Take responsibility for successful delivery under the supervision of a Director or Regional Lead.

Work across a portfolio of innovative construction consultancy projects and support other Project Managers on larger assignments.

Core responsibilities

  • Provide oversight, strategic guidance, audits, and reviews across a portfolio of projects.
  • Manage client portfolios containing multiple projects.
  • Deliver assigned client revenues through repeat business and flawless project execution.
  • Maintain planned profit margins and complete projects without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
  • Manage complex clients and projects involving risk-triggering factors.
  • Direct Project Managers in recognizing and mitigating risk and uncertainty.
  • Supervise staff and minimize exposure to claims.
  • Manage project management team outputs to agreed timescales and quality standards.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Act as the primary interface with new and existing AECOM clients.

Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant work experience in a similar consultancy or other client-facing business.
  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in project management, construction, engineering, or quantity surveying.
  • Chartered status with MAPM, RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE, or an equivalent institution is ideally preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent understanding of construction contracts, ideally JCT and NEC.
  • Excellent understanding of the built environment and CDM Regulations 2015.
