Senior Associate - Landscape Architecture

Role Overview

Project Leadership

• Manage and independently coordinate multiple medium-sized landscape design projects with limited oversight.
• Structure project teams, clarify roles, prepare project deployments, and act as technical lead across disciplines.
• Lead client interfaces, meetings, contractual requirements, deliverables, and solutions for project delivery.
• Plan and conduct design and creative review sessions for projects and competitions.

Technical Design

• Apply public realm design standards across landscape projects.
• Lead and deliver technical packages and landscape designs independently with review from senior staff.
• Apply regional planting and irrigation requirements, standards, and guidelines.
• Promote innovative design solutions, digital tools, and landscape design graphics.

Commercial And Operations

• Review landscape cost plans and support project financial status reporting.
• Prepare change orders and variation orders in liaison with project managers and directors.
• Coordinate landscape bids and proposals, including technical approaches and commercial aspects.
• Provide updates for weekly studio and resourcing meetings.

Team And Quality

• Identify skills gaps and support sourcing, interviewing, and recruitment of new joiners.
• Apply quality procedures and complete self-checks and reviews before deliverables are issued.
• Review deliverables against QA/QC requirements.
• Provide professional mentorship and guidance to junior staff members.

Requirements

• Minimum 12 years of professional experience in landscape architecture with demonstrated project design and delivery expertise.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Working toward professional membership in urban design or architecture, such as RIBA or an equivalent.
