Job Family Summary

The role provides technical leadership and project management for structural engineering projects.

Responsibilities include planning, technical direction, multidisciplinary coordination, and management of scope, schedule, cost, quality, and resources.

The position provides expert structural guidance and supports technically and financially viable project delivery.

Workplace and Employment

  • The role is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
  • The position is full-time.
  • New hires must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.

Experience and Technical Qualifications

  • Ten to fifteen years of professional experience as a Structural Engineer is required.
  • Experience with industrial buildings, water-retaining structures, earth-retaining structures, and related facilities is required.
  • Strong analysis and design expertise in reinforced concrete and steel structures is required.
  • Candidates must be able to lead projects and multidisciplinary teams of engineers and CAD/BIM technicians.
  • Experience managing commercial, managerial, and technical project aspects is required.
  • Experience with cost estimates, bids, tenders, and new project opportunities is required.

Codes, Software, and Engineering Practice

  • Knowledge and practical application of international structural design codes, including Eurocodes and American codes of practice, is required.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software is preferred, including MIDAS, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and Autodesk Robot.
  • The role requires safety-in-design knowledge and experience reviewing structural calculations, specifications, and drawings for quality.
  • Progress toward Chartered Engineer status is advantageous.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines, lead offices, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineers and develop team capabilities.
  • Represent the structural engineering team in client workshops, technical meetings, and project discussions.
  • Work effectively with geographically dispersed and multicultural teams across the Middle East, UK, and ANZ.
  • Middle East project experience is advantageous.
