Responsibilities
- Identify and cultivate relationships with healthcare professionals and key strategic partners
- Conduct educational programs on disease state and appropriate use of medicines
- Respond to customer inquiries with focused clinical and scientific information

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Pharmacology
- Minimum 2.5 years of experience in Medical Affairs
- At least 4 years within the pharmaceutical industry
- Proven ability to synthesize complex scientific information and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
- Strong aptitude for learning and applying scientific concepts
- Excellent presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to work independently

Role Summary
- AstraZeneca is accelerating expansion in rare diseases following the acquisition of Alexion. Rare disease is a high growth therapy area with significant unmet medical need. We seek a Rare Disease Senior Medical Science Liaison to join our Medical Affairs team in Western Region, KSA.
What you'll do
- Provide AZ with understanding of local medical community, clinical practice trends, HCP insight and gaps in scientific knowledge.
- Share emerging data with HCPs in a scientific, objective, and balanced way.
- Identify and develop scientifically based relationships with KEEs.
- Work with HCPs on scientific activities such as clinical trials, Non Interventional Studies, Investigator Sponsored Studies.
- Identify potential speakers and train speakers for local events.
- Provide recommendations for advisory board participants and serve as faculty/facilitators.
- Present scientific data to HCPs in group and one on one settings.
- Facilitate continuing medical education events.
- Develop scientific programs to explore unmet medical needs and share insights.
- Provide actionable insights to internal stakeholders.
- Engage in strategic planning meetings with payer customers or hospital decision makers.
- Support Medical Lead and Marketing Team in development of materials.
Essential for the role
- Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Pharmacology.
- Minimum 2.5 years of experience in Medical Affairs and at least 4 years within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex scientific information and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Strong aptitude for learning and applying scientific concepts.
- Experience in Rare Diseases and/or Metabolic Disorders is highly desirable.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to work independently.
