Job Overview
LACASA Architects and Engineering Consultants seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with 15+ years of experience in engineering consultancy in UAE. The role involves leading complex tasks and multiple projects in high-rise buildings and hospitality, with a specialization in mechanical design.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed design drawings with a specialization in mechanical design (such as HVAC, Public Health & Fire protection system, BMS, irrigation, swimming pool, gas, etc.)
- Prepare technical specifications and schedules and design development reports
- Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables
- Coordinate work with other members of the project team
- Work closely with and monitor performance of Engineers (as appropriate)
- Ensure service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget
- Keep senior design team members informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the SSH Design and the client are achieved
- Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met in all designs
- Support the project submittals and No Objection Certificates (NOC) process to the relevant Authorities
- Attend and contribute in team and project meetings as required
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years experience in engineering consultancy in UAE
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters Degree in Engineering (MEng)
- Membership of a recognized professional body (CIBSE, IMechE or ASHRAE)
- Experience in dealing with Dubai authorities (DM, DEWA, Civil Defense, Trakhees, EHS, DDA, etc.)
- Experience in providing sustainable design
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters Degree in Engineering (MEng)
- Membership of a recognized professional body (CIBSE, IMechE or ASHRAE) is desirable but not essential
