Role Overview
The Senior Manager, Stage Direction, supports the Entertainment Director in producing and presenting live shows.
The role manages artistic and creative delivery across daily productions, marquee events, and seasonal productions.
Responsibilities
- Work with Production, Technical, and Wardrobe Managers to deliver shows while considering park requirements.
- Manage live production development, operation, continuous enhancement, and show-development documentation.
- Direct Assistant Show Directors, Performance Captains, Junior Choreographers, and other live show staff.
- Provide creative input for special and corporate events and maintain production resource materials.
- Lead marquee and seasonal productions, support staff development, and participate in health and safety compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
- A university degree, diploma, or professional training in Dance or Theatre is required; a relevant Master’s degree is desirable.
- At least five years of professional experience directing live entertainment shows, productions, or events is required.
- Experience in theme parks, theatres, festivals, or special events is required.
- Strong knowledge of scriptwriting, stage production, choreography, costume design and development, and themed live shows is required.
- Professional training in dance, stunts, or acting and strong communication, teamwork, presentation, and project management skills are required.
- Strong proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related tools is required.
- Video and audio production experience, music editing or mixing, Photoshop, and video editing are preferred or desirable.
