Job Description

  • Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Senior Manager Operations to support our schools.
  • The role involves advising, implementing, and supporting initiatives within their specialist area, ensuring compliance with internal and external directives.
  • As a cluster lead, the Senior Manager will oversee all Operations, Administration & Support Service related activities.

Main Duties

  • Be the department lead in specialist function and ensure consistent approach.
  • Be responsible for organisation and delivery of operations, administration and support service teams across the cluster.
  • Support and advise key functions on operational, financial, HSE and audit matters.
  • Implement processes and provide strategic guidance on audit and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all Operations and Support Service staff are supported with high quality professional development.
  • Drive a positive and proactive health and safety culture.
  • Oversee efficiency of support functions (Procurement, IT etc.) in coordination with HQ.
  • Regular liaison with project stakeholders to ensure operational excellence.

Specific Duties General Operations

  • Support Principals and OM in implementing business strategy.
  • Develop and implement policies, systems, processes and student safeguarding measures.
  • Initiate and identify good practices within cluster and share across group.
  • Be contactable outside normal school hours for critical incidents.
  • Support OM and project stakeholders in effective delivery of key projects.

Leadership & Management

  • Oversee performance of Operations & Support Service staff.
  • Continuously review school support services operating models and staffing levels.
  • Contribute to recruitment, professional development, appraisal, and training of staff.
  • Facilitate coordination between multiple stakeholders.

Finance, Commercial & Procurement

  • Support Principal and OM in developing and monitoring budgets and expenditure.
  • Review opportunities for shared resource, cost and/or services across cluster.
  • Support OM in reviewing and preparing information for tenders.
  • Ensure Delegation of Authority processes are followed.

Relationship & Stakeholder Management

  • Embrace and encourage ethos and standards of excellence.
  • Ensure cluster is fully compliant with local government authority regulations.
  • Ensure all internal and external audits are effectively managed.
  • Understand effects of government policies and develop effective strategies.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Lead and support a culture of 'no hurt, no harm'.
  • Promote a supportive and business focused approach to risk management.
  • Act as responsible person for HSE effectiveness.
  • Drive positive health and safety culture throughout team.
  • Support schools in establishing HSE aims and objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to Service Guidelines and Policies.
  • Drive use of AVA system for incident management compliance.
  • Ensure HSE inspections and audits are completed.

Specialist Function

  • Ensure compliance of specialist area to industry standards, specifications, and regulations.
  • Embrace and encourage ethos and standards of excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors (BSc) in business related subject; or related industry qualification of graduate level.
  • Certificate of School Business Management / Facilities Management / NEBOSH or IOSH preferable.

Minimum Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a senior level position within an education or service oriented industry.
