Role Overview

The role provides financial and payroll support to the High Risk Managed Services function.

The position supports the HRMS department and its Executive Committee with accounting, reporting, payroll, and ad hoc financial matters.

Financial Accounting and Reporting

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Analyze financial performance and explain variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Ensure HRMS income is complete and accurate.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Report realization and project profitability for HRMS projects.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting with accurate financial data and insights.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies.
  • Advise the business on financial issues, including foreign exchange and tax.

Payroll Responsibilities

  • Review monthly expatriate payroll and verify that it agrees with HR data and is calculated and booked correctly.
  • Verify supporting documents for joiners, leavers, and contract amendments.
  • Apply knowledge of DIFC Employment Law and Iraq personal tax calculations.
  • Assist with resolving payroll queries and issues.

General Responsibilities

  • Provide ad hoc financial support to the HRMS department and Executive Committee.
  • Support new legal entity setup, business expansion reporting, and local statutory and group reporting.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, automate tasks, and strengthen financial controls.
  • Support the Financial Controller and Regional Finance Director.

Essential Experience

  • Experience of management accounting is required.
  • Experience in an analytical accounting role is required.
  • Experience preparing budgets and forecasts is required.
  • Experienced use of Microsoft Excel is required.

Preferred Experience

  • Consulting business financial support experience is preferred.
  • Commercial support experience, including pricing, is preferred.
  • Audit experience is preferred.
  • Global business experience is preferred.
  • Statutory accounting experience is preferred.

Qualifications and Specialist Skills

  • Candidates must have reached part-qualified status in a recognized accounting qualification.
  • A firm understanding of DIFC Employment Law and Iraq personal tax calculations is required.
