About the Role
Hitachi Energy seeks a Senior Field Service Engineer GIS Specialist to perform aftermarket services and support for High Voltage Products in UAE. The role involves installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and warranty repairs of GIS, LTB, AIS, and Power Quality equipment.

Responsibilities
- Perform installation, commissioning, extension, and maintenance services for High Voltage Products independently
- Provide on site or remote technical support for installation and commissioning of GIS, LTB, AIS, and Power Quality Solutions
- Ensure adherence to safety and industry acceptable practices
- Create and maintain strong customer relationships, understanding their needs and providing specialist support
- Prepare tools, equipment, and parts needed for service jobs and understand scope of work
- Create service reports, time sheets, and delivery notes signed by customer
- Update installed base in IB Analyzer with changes made at site
- Act as voice of customer back into internal engineering and quality functions
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience with 6 8 years in High Voltage Products (GIS, LTB, AIS) or Power Quality Products
- Experience in Transmission GIS Installation and Commissioning including Substation Services
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Computer literate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player with ability to network and build relationships
- Highly focused on meeting customer service and quality standards

The opportunity
- This role encompasses aftermarket services and support for installed base and High Voltage Products (GIS, LTB, AIS, GCB & Power Quality) maintenance services to utility and contractor for UAE.
- Involves preventive maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, warranty repairs, and commissioning activities.
- Includes coordination of investigations of customer reported issues and assistance to achieve equitable solutions.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Strong knowledge of High Voltage Products Services & Service portfolios.
- Carrying out Installation & Commissioning, extension and Maintenance services independently.
- Providing on site or remote technical support for installation and commissioning of mainly GIS and LTB, AIS & Power Quality Solutions.
- Ensuring accident prevention measures are observed, abiding by guidelines for work on live system components.
- Supervising adherence to safety and industry acceptable practice and creating strong customer relationships.
- Recommending immediate and future service requirements to customers and providing feedback to Service Sales team.
- Acting as representative of OEM during interaction with customer and preparing tools, equipment, and parts.
- Ensuring documentation for the job is available and briefing with service manager or supervisor.
- Creating service reports, time sheets & delivery notes duly signed by customer.
- Acting as voice of customer back into internal engineering and quality functions.
- Effectively managing multifunctional interfaces and maintaining teamwork environment.
- Updating installed base in IB Analyzer with changes made at site.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience and previous experiences of 6 to 8 years in High Voltage Products or Equipment (GIS, LTB, AIS), Power Quality Products (PQPS) installation testing and commissioning, repair and maintenance.
- Computer literate and excellent interpersonal written or oral communication skills.
- Relevant experiences in Transmission GIS Installation and Commissioning including Substation Services and Preventive Maintenance activities are added value.
- Team player with ability to network and build relationships both internally and externally.
- Highly focused on meeting customer service and quality standards.
- Hitachi Energy make GIS with valid Factory Certification is added advantage.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
