About the Role
Petrofac seeks a Senior Quality Engineer (EIT) for the Das Island site in Abu Dhabi. You will conduct inspections and testing of electrical, instrumentation, and telecom systems for oil & gas projects.

Responsibilities
- Conduct cable glanding training and assess/approve cable glanding/termination personnel qualification
- Inspect installation of cable trays, conduits, cables, and terminations
- Witness insulation resistance, continuity, and hi pot tests of cables
- Inspect switchgear, transformer, and bus duct installation and witness testing
- Inspect earthing system, lightning protection, and cathodic protection installation
- Inspect lighting, socket outlets, and distribution boards
- Witness motor solo run tests and functional tests of circuits
- Inspect instrument installation, calibration, and tubing
- Inspect control room panels, cable tray works, and cable installation
- Perform initial detailed inspection of certified electrical equipment per IEC 60079 17
- Inspect communication equipment, antennas, and radio towers
- Witness testing of fiber optic cables and communication systems
Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years experience as Electrical QC Inspector
- Experience in oil & gas/petrochemical industry
- Previously worked with major EPC contractors (at least three years)
- Training on IEC 60079 17 and IEC 60079 14 for hazardous area inspections

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cable glanding training, assess and approve cable glanding/termination personnel qualification.
- Review and approve cable jointer/terminator qualification certificates.
- Inspection/testing of temporary electrical works, connections to camp facilities as and when required.
- Inspect installation of supports prior to cable tray installation.
- Inspection of cable tray/conduit installation prior to release for cable laying.
- Inspect UG stub ups.
- Inspect cable trench for dimensions and sand bedding prior to cable laying and prior to release each layer of cables.
- Monitor cable jointing/termination process to ensure manufacturer’s recommendations are followed.
- Inspect cable segregation arrangement etc prior to back filling/release.
- Inspect cable glanding, termination, dressing etc.
- Witness Insulation Resistance/continuity test of cables on the drum, after laying, prior to trench back filling and after termination.
- Witness Hi pot test of cables.
Essential Qualifications And Skills
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as Electrical QC Inspector.
- Should have experience in oil & gas/Petrochemical industry.
- Should have previously worked with major EPC contractors (At least three years).
- For Hazardous Area Electrical Inspections: Should be an experienced person whose training has included instructions on various types of protection and installation practices, IEC 60079 17 and IEC 60079 14.
