About the Role
Petrofac is seeking a Senior Engineer - Commissioning (Process) to lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for energy projects. The role requires hands-on leadership of a team, ensuring safety and quality in field operations.

Responsibilities
- Identify requirements and scope of work, review specifications, drawings and other documents
- Carry out detailed assessment of commissioning work and assess resources and constraints
- Be continually present on the field to guarantee quality and progress of work
- Inspect and ensure all construction activities are completed prior to commissioning
- Ensure all safety and precautionary requirements are followed during commissioning
- Lead subcontractor for safe execution of Pre Commissioning/Commissioning activities
- Monitor costs, control expenses, and report overruns to management
- Hold regular risk assessment meetings with client on HSE issues
- Attend daily meetings with Commissioning coordinator and team leaders to update progress
- Liaise and coordinate with commissioning engineers and supervisors for technical issues
Requirements
- Hands on leadership of a team of commissioning discipline engineers and operators
- Ability to review contractual documents and identify project requirements and constraints/risks
- Ability to perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and toolbox talks
- Ability to lead subcontractor for safe execution of Pre Commissioning/Commissioning activities
- Ability to produce plans and method statements including P&ID mark ups for leak testing, chemical cleaning, etc.
- Ability to conduct P&ID line walks, equipment internals inspections, and vendor packages readiness
- Ability to monitor and lead DCS operations such as alarm trips, logic, interlocks, permissive, overrides
- Ability to monitor and control temperatures/pressures/levels/flow of operating plant
- Participate in HAZOP meetings with client and other engineering disciplines

Scope of Responsibilities
- Hands on leadership of a team of commissioning discipline engineers and operators in carrying out Pre Commissioning/Commissioning & Start up activities.
- Provide necessary technical information for the other disciplines during the project.
- Coordinate the work within the budgeted man hour and project schedule.
Primary Duties
- Identify requirements and scope of work, review specifications, drawings and other documents.
- Carry out detailed assessment of commissioning work and assess resources and constraints.
- Ability to review contractual documents and identify project requirements and constraints/risks.
- Be continually present on the field to guarantee quality and progress of work.
- Ability to perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and toolbox talks.
- Provide necessary inputs to commissioning proposals at the bidding stage.
- Inspect and ensure all construction activities are completed prior to commissioning.
- Ensure all safety and precautionary requirements are followed during commissioning.
- Ability to lead subcontractor for safe execution of Pre Commissioning/Commissioning activities.
- Be aware of cost monitoring, control expenses, and report overruns to management.
- Hold regular review of risk assessment/meeting with client on HSE issues.
- Attend daily meeting with Commissioning coordinator and team leaders to update progress.
Process Duties
- Review project design documents.
- Ability to identify design failures and/or discrepancies.
- Ability to perform Factory & Site Acceptance test and performance test.
- Ability to produce integrated start up schedules.
- Ability to commission and start up systems/equipment safely.
- Attend and provide input at P&ID review, HAZOP & HAZID review.
- Able to monitor and lead DCS operations such as alarm trips, logic, interlocks, permissive, overrides.
- Able to monitor and control temperatures/pressures/levels/flow of operating plant.
- Ability to produce plans and specific method statements including P&ID mark ups for leak testing, chemical cleaning, oil flushing, air blowing, catalyst loading, operational test procedures, start up procedures.
- Ability to conduct P&ID line walks, equipment internals inspections and vendor packages readiness.
- Participate in HAZOP meeting with client and representative of other engineering disciplines.
