Position Overview
The Electrical Design Engineer designs, develops, tests, and improves electrical systems and equipment for construction, manufacturing, power, automation, automotive, and electronics applications.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems, control panels, wiring layouts, and schematics.
- Prepare electrical drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN Electric P8.
- Create single-line diagrams, circuit diagrams, and cable schedules.
- Select circuit breakers, transformers, relays, cables, motors, and other electrical components.
- Perform electrical load calculations and size cables, panels, and protection devices.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, procurement, and project teams.
- Review and update design documents based on project requirements.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Prepare technical documentation, bills of materials, and project reports.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in electrical design software including AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN Electric P8, ETAP, or Dialux evo.
- Understanding of IEC, NFPA, and applicable local electrical regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
