Role Overview
Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for mechanical system design, calculations, drawings, coordination, and technical documentation for MEP building projects.
Projects may include commercial, residential, industrial, hospital, data-center, and other building facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical MEP systems and prepare HVAC, ventilation, chilled-water, plumbing, and firefighting layouts.
- Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and pressure-drop calculations.
- Prepare 2D drawings, 3D BIM models, equipment schedules, specifications, BOQs, and technical submittals.
- Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and firefighting disciplines.
- Review shop drawings, contractor drawings, and technical submittals.
- Identify and resolve design clashes and site-related technical issues.
- Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and client or consultant discussions.
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NBC, local codes, and project specifications.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and site inspections.
- Maintain project documentation and complete deliverables within project schedules.
