Senior Database Administrator

What you will do

• Perform day-to-day administration and L2/L3 production support for enterprise databases.
• Monitor database health, availability, performance, capacity, replication, and storage utilization.
• Manage configurations, users, roles, privileges, and access controls.
• Perform backup, recovery, restore, replication, and disaster recovery activities.
• Execute patching, upgrades, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation.
• Troubleshoot database performance issues involving CPU, memory, I/O, locking, blocking, and queries.
• Manage incidents, problems, and changes using ITIL/ITSM processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for major or recurring incidents.
• Support high-availability, clustering, and replication solutions.
• Administer Oracle databases and OCI database services, including monitoring, backup, and troubleshooting.
• Develop scripts and automation for health checks, monitoring, maintenance, and routine DBA work.
• Maintain runbooks and technical documentation and collaborate with application, infrastructure, storage, network, security, and vendor teams.

What you will bring

• At least 8 years of enterprise DBA experience with production administration across Oracle and multiple database platforms.
• Strong Oracle Database and OCI experience, including RMAN, ASM, RAC, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, and OCI database services.
• Hands-on PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server administration, including replication, backup and recovery, HA/DR, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
• Good understanding of SAN/NAS storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and ServiceNow or ITSM platforms.
• Scripting and automation skills using Shell, PowerShell, Python, or equivalent technologies.
• Strong production troubleshooting, ownership, and incident management skills.
• Oracle certification such as OCP or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise or telecommunications environments is required.
• Experience with highly available, business-critical production databases is required.
• Cloud database technology experience is a plus.
