About This Opportunity

What You Will Do

• Perform day-to-day administration and L2/L3 production support for enterprise databases.
• Monitor database health, availability, performance, capacity, replication, and storage utilization.
• Manage database configurations, users, roles, privileges, and access controls.
• Perform backup, recovery, restore, replication, and disaster recovery activities and participate in DR exercises.
• Execute database patching, upgrades, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation.
• Troubleshoot CPU, memory, I/O, locking, blocking, and query performance issues.
• Manage incidents, problems, and changes using ITIL and ITSM processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis for major or recurring incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Support high-availability, clustering, and replication solutions.
• Administer Oracle databases and services on OCI, including connectivity, monitoring, backup, and troubleshooting.
• Develop scripts and automation for health checks, monitoring, maintenance, and routine DBA activities.
• Maintain runbooks and documentation and collaborate with application, infrastructure, storage, network, security, and vendor teams.

What You Will Bring

• At least eight years of enterprise DBA experience with hands-on production administration across Oracle and multiple database platforms.
• Strong Oracle Database and OCI experience, including RMAN, ASM, RAC, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, OCI database services, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on administration experience with PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server, including replication, backup and recovery, HA/DR, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of Linux or Unix and Windows environments.
• Good understanding of SAN/NAS storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and ServiceNow or ITSM platforms.
• Scripting and automation skills using Shell, PowerShell, Python, or equivalent technologies.
• Strong production troubleshooting, ownership, and incident management skills.
• Oracle OCP certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Other PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or Cassandra certifications are advantageous.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise or telecommunications environments.
• Experience supporting highly available, business-critical production databases is required, while cloud database experience is a plus.
