Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor – Data Center Construction

Role Overview

Workplace

• The role requires onsite work three times per week in the St. Louis, Missouri area.
• On-site presence and requirements may change depending on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the day-to-day client interface and lead scope delivery for assigned phases and packages.
• Develop estimates and cost plans, reconcile quantities and scope, and provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering.
• Support procurement strategy, contract administration, pricing reviews, negotiations, and contractor or subcontractor commercial management.
• Manage change orders, commitment tracking, contingencies, trends, risk registers, cost validation, auditing, and change control.
• Produce monthly reports, forecasts, cash flows, variance analyses, funding data, executive summaries, and recommendations.
• Maintain Business Management Systems and delivery tools, mentor junior staff, improve internal practices, and support account growth.
• Comply with applicable SOX controls.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 6–7 years of cost management or project controls experience leading cost deliverables on complex projects.
• Data center or mission-critical/industrial project experience is strongly preferred.
• Consultancy experience is preferred.
• RICS accreditation or progress toward accreditation is strongly preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge of procurement, commercial management, contracts, change, and risk.
• Expertise in estimating, cost planning, budgeting, reporting, and cost control systems.
• Excellent client-facing communication, negotiation, stakeholder influence, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with industry-standard cost tools.
