Role Overview

The Cost Manager will join the Real Estate team in Qatar.

Projects may include large and complex data centres, commercial offices, fit-outs, and refurbishments.

The role offers work with a leading client base in a growing business unit and requires both teamwork and individual initiative.

Key Accountabilities

  • Measure building and MEP works accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare competitive estimates using market prices and building and MEP pricing knowledge.
  • Produce detailed Bills of Quantities.
  • Manage post-contract cost variances, change control, interim applications, and related project cost matters.
  • Maintain ownership of work quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with commission leads to produce timely reports and information.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants.
  • Progress toward more complex responsibilities and mentoring opportunities.

Experience Required

  • Experience in the real estate or property sector with a professional cost consultancy.
  • Pre-contract experience from feasibility through tendering, including measurement and pricing of building and MEP works.
  • Post-contract experience including interim applications, change management, and variation valuation.
  • Experience with standard-form contracts and contract procedures; FIDIC is preferred.
  • Professional approach and confidence when working with contractors.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar discipline.
  • Professional membership such as MRICS is advantageous.
  • At least five years of experience in similar roles, such as data centre projects.
  • Good knowledge of the construction industry and technical matters.
  • Knowledge of CostX; BIM experience is advantageous.
