Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor for a large-scale, mission-critical construction program in the Omaha area.
The client-facing role leads cost management across complex data center construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead cost management, estimating, and cost planning throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and negotiate change orders, valuations, cost checks, and change control processes.
- Collaborate with design teams, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Prepare cost updates, executive summaries, monthly reports, benchmarks, and as-built cost records.
- Track contingencies, commitments, cost impacts, and final account settlements.
- Support value engineering, design optioneering, engineering prioritization, and pricing negotiations.
- Mentor junior team members and comply with applicable financial, business management, and SOX controls.
Requirements and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.
- 5-7+ years of relevant experience in construction cost management.
- Proven experience managing costs on complex, high-value construction projects.
- Strong understanding of procurement strategies, value management, and cost control.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Data center, mission-critical, or related large-scale construction experience is preferred.
- RICS accreditation or progress toward it is preferred.
- Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
Workplace
- The role is based in the Omaha area with on-site presence and requirements subject to client needs.
