Role overview

Supports a diverse portfolio of large-scale construction projects, including data centers, commercial real estate, high-tech, and semiconductor manufacturing projects.

Acts as a day-to-day client interface and delivers cost management services to meet client objectives.

Provides leadership and direction in a client-facing, independent, and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Prepare and present cost plans, estimates, forecasts, and executive summaries.
  • Review design and contractor estimates, reconcile cost data, and coordinate cost information from project sources.
  • Manage cost checks, valuations, post-contract variances, change control, contingencies, and commitment tracking.
  • Prepare funding presentations and coordinate value engineering sessions.
  • Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead client negotiations.
  • Produce monthly cost reports, manage final accounts, audits, and account closeouts.
  • Maintain benchmarking records, business management systems, financial reports, and delivery methodologies.
  • Identify, coach, and mentor talent while providing leadership and service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a construction-related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant construction industry cost management experience.
  • Experience leading cost management on medium or large, medium- to high-complexity construction projects.
  • Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
  • RICS accreditation or progress toward accreditation is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Workplace

  • The role supports projects in the Phoenix, Arizona area and other regional locations.
  • On-site presence and requirements may change depending on client needs.
