Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project cost control systems and procedures
- Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare and analyse cost reports, variance analyses, cash flow forecasts, and financial performance metrics
- Identify cost risks and opportunities, providing proactive recommendations to project stakeholders
- Review contractor valuations, change orders, variation claims, and payment applications
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Commercial Teams, Finance Departments, and external consultants
- Ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting across multiple development projects
- Support procurement activities through budget reviews, tender evaluations, and commercial assessments
- Monitor project progress against approved budgets and schedules
- Assist with feasibility studies, cost planning, and project financial modelling
- Lead cost review meetings and present financial updates to senior management
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within cost management and project controls processes
Requirements
- Proven experience in cost control, commercial management, or quantity surveying within the real estate, construction, or property development sector
- Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, and financial analysis
- Experience managing large scale residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed use, or infrastructure projects
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project cost management software
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and financial modelling skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast paced development environment
