Role Overview
Doha Bank is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for its Strategic Planning function.
The role supports strategy formulation, execution, corporate performance management, strategic decision-making, and high-impact initiatives.
The position reports to the VP of Strategic Planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research, industry trend analysis, and internal assessments for strategy formulation.
- Analyze macroeconomic indicators, competitor financials, and emerging banking trends across the GCC.
- Partner with Finance on budgets, financial projections, balance sheet targets, risk appetite, and growth plans.
- Support strategic initiatives with initiative sponsors and project leads.
- Develop and track departmental KPIs for corporate performance management.
- Analyze internal functions and peer banks to identify performance and improvement opportunities.
- Develop management dashboards, executive reports, and Board-level presentations.
- Evaluate market entry opportunities, strategic alliances, and FinTech partnerships across Qatar and the wider GCC.
- Lead or support strategic projects and act as a Project Manager where appropriate.
Candidate Profile
- Candidates need at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 7 years in banking or closely related financial services.
- Strong experience in banking strategy, strategic planning, change management, and financial analysis is required.
- Candidates need a good understanding of GCC banking markets and industry trends.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and presentation skills are required.
- Experience in FinTech, strategic partnerships, or market expansion initiatives is advantageous.
- Relevant professional certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
- Candidates from Group Strategy or strategy consulting backgrounds should have significant banking strategy experience.
