Job Title: Senior Associate - ESG Compliance

Job Purpose
The ESG Compliance Associate is responsible for ensuring that Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks related to EGA’s suppliers are adequately assessed, managed and monitored through EGA’s supplier onboarding and performance management processes.
Reporting to the SC ESG Manager, the ESG Compliance Associate will work closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure compliance to EGA Responsible Sourcing Standard.
Interaction with other internal and external stakeholders is also required to make sure that EGA's expectations and ambitions for responsible sourcing are realised.
Key Accountability
- Supplier qualification
- Sending out/ triggering questionnaires to business partners and evaluating the response identifying gaps, inconsistencies or instinct (ie: where response does not ring true)
- Timely follow-up with suppliers where no response received/ gaps in response/ missing information
- Working closely with the onboarding team to ensure new suppliers are correctly entered into SAP and Ariba
- Run desk-top analysis on selected business partners as part of EGA’s qualification process
- Screening of suppliers/customers through Refinitiv when needed
- Critical analysis of due diligence findings, including supplier engagement and follow-up investigations
- Collaborate with the procurement teams on critical findings that can impact supplier qualification or selection
- Work closely with legal and compliance departments on relevant issues
- Make sure the procurement teams are including the ESG criteria as part of the supplier selection process
- Maintain the supplier qualification templates and processesCarry out supplier qualification audits when needed
- Supplier development and audits
- Develop supplier audit plans on a yearly basis together with the ESG team and SC stakeholders
- Participating in on-site audits and development of improvement plans for our suppliers
- Work with the suppliers to improve their ESG performance as identified through audits
- Liaise with EHS, Quality, CSR and Sustainability departments in EGA on audit findings and actions
- Adhere to KPIs established for ESG review and due diligence of suppliers
- Supplier performance and risk
- Risk rating of suppliers and escalation/liaison internally within EGA as appropriate to inform commercial decision-making
- Monitoring and tracking of ongoing supplier performance and scheduling of EGA interventions as necessary
- Preparation of supply chain risk and performance reports to SC management
- Regular reporting and statistics (Quarterly) on suppliers, progress of prioritized suppliers and supplier deep dives, as necessary
- Projects and ESG requirements
- Update relevant policies and procedures pertaining to Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Onboarding in cooperation with the GRC manager
- Keep up to date on ESG developments and requirements from ASI, UN, OECD, EU and other relevant organizations
- Run relevant projects for Responsible sourcing, i.e. implementing new requirements such as carbon emissions or women in the workforce
- Collaborate with CSR on social programs in the UAE and Guinea
- Perform other tasks and assignments which may be required by SC ESG Manager in connection with Responsible Sourcing
- Contribute to continual improvement of EGA’s ESG due diligence management system

Qualifications & Skills
- A minimum of three years’ professional experience in a compliance or sustainability-related role
- Educated to degree-level in sustainability, business, law or a related field
- Analytical and detail-orientated
- Excellent communication skills
- Mindset of high ethical standards
- Demonstrable ability to apply critical thinking and professional scepticism
- Excellent understanding of ESG issues
- At ease with IT database platforms with a high level of proficiency in MS Office
