About the Role
Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) is seeking an Assistant System Controller to coordinate with the Control Room Engineer for safe and efficient generation of electricity and steam at the Jebel Ali site.

Responsibilities
- Operate plant equipment to generate and distribute electrical power safely and efficiently
- Monitor Gas Turbines, HRSGs, and Steam Turbines operating parameters
- Initiate start up and shut down of plant equipment as instructed
- Monitor total system condition including gas, steam, compressed air, and fuel systems
- Report temperature alarms, vibration alarms, and other operational alarms
- Ensure operational routines are performed promptly
- Communicate abnormalities to Control Room Engineer/System Controller for corrective action
- Train subordinates as required
- Raise work requests and store requests as needed
- Ensure plant operation does not create environmental incidents
Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering field
- 5 years working experience in Power or Manufacturing industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Advanced Level and Visual Basic programming

Job Description
- Coordinate with the Control Room Engineer/System Controller for generation of electricity and steam.
- Monitor control equipment and parameters for safe and efficient operation.
- Supply power to Jebel Ali site and 3rd party customers.
Key Accountabilities
- Operate the plant as instructed to ensure safe and efficient power generation and distribution.
- Observe Gas Turbines, HRSG's and Steam Turbines operating parameters.
- Control and assist in collection of accurate operational data.
- Initiate start up, shut down of various plant and equipment.
- Monitor total system condition at all times.
- Report temperature alarms, vibration alarms, any alarms pertinent to Operation.
- Observe fuel consumption, frequency, voltage and current.
- Ensure operational routines are performed promptly.
- Communicate with field operators and supervisors for corrective action.
- Train subordinates as required.
- Raise work requests and store requests.
- Ensure plant operation does not create environmental incidents.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering field
- 5 years working experience in Power or Manufacturing industry
- Proficiency in Computer Applications with emphasis on Microsoft Excel Advance Level and Visual Basic programming
