About the Role
Emirates Global Aluminium seeks a Director of Safety to lead the development and implementation of safety management systems across all sites. The role involves strategy development, governance, audits, and incident investigations.

Responsibilities
- Set out EGA's Safety and Governance strategy and framework
- Direct the implementation of the functional strategy ensuring alignment to group strategy
- Manage the effective achievement of functional objectives through leadership
- Oversee the consolidation and recommend the functional budget
- Strategize the creation of company wide safety policies, processes and procedures
- Lead the development of a comprehensive governance framework for safety management
- Plan, lead and co ordinate all safety related projects
- Lead significant incident investigations and direct preparation of reports
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs covering international safety standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as safety management, HSSE
- Professional certification/ Diploma in Safety Management
- Lead Auditor certification
- 12 years of safety experience in an industrial environment
- At least 4 years safety management level experience
- Risk assessment/management skills
- Leadership ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to conduct training
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Job Purpose
- Provides functional expertise, leads and directs the development, planning, management and audit of the effective implementation of EGA’s Safety Management systems, strategic plans, policies and programs across EGA sites (locally & internationally) to ensure compliance to legislation and internation
Key Accountabilities
- Sets out EGA’s Safety and Governance strategy and framework based on EGA’s overall ESG & Sustainability strategy.
- Directs the implementation of the functional strategy ensuring alignment to group strategy.
- Ensures that functional strategy and related strategic plans are developed and implemented.
- Manages the effective achievement of functional objectives through effective leadership.
- Establishes SMART KPI’s for the departments.
- Leads the talent development initiatives for the assigned function.
- Oversees and manages the effective coordination with other departments.
- Oversees the consolidation and recommend the functional budget.
- Strategizes the creation of company wide safety policies, processes and procedures.
- Provides functional expertise and leads the development of a comprehensive governance framework for safety management.

Qualifications & Skills
