Senior Accountant – Reconciliation & Automation( 3-6 months contract)

Role Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Identify reconciliation exceptions, root causes, materiality thresholds, and reporting requirements.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, report logic, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
• Define exception-reporting logic, ownership, escalation procedures, and resolution workflows.
• Validate source data, report outputs, and exception classifications for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate UAT, investigate defects, and support timely resolution.
• Monitor recurring exceptions and identify control gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Support report development, automation, implementation, user guidance, adoption, and process governance.

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of accounting, reconciliations, financial controls, and period-end close.
• Understanding of exception management, materiality thresholds, report logic, and control requirements.
• Ability to translate accounting and business requirements into functional specifications.
• Experience with process mapping, data mapping, test scenarios, and UAT or acceptance criteria.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with ERP, reconciliation, workflow, or BI tools.
• Ability to investigate data quality issues and perform source-to-report reconciliation.
• Exposure to automation, reporting, and process improvement initiatives is preferred.

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• CA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA qualification or part-qualification is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in reconciliations, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, financial controls, or month-end close.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and ERP experience, including Oracle Fusion, SAP, or Yardi.
• Experience in process improvement, reporting automation, UAT, business requirements, or BI and analytical tools is advantageous.
• Three years of Excel reporting, automation, or UAT experience is preferred.

Pay

• AED 8,000 to AED 12,000 per month.
