Senior Accountant

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Managing daily accounting transactions and maintaining accurate general ledger records.
• Handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and supplier payments.
• Preparing monthly financial reports and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Performing bank, customer, supplier, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Managing UAE VAT records, calculations, reconciliations, and VAT return preparation.
• Maintaining accurate project-wise accounting and costing records.
• Tracking and analyzing material, labour, subcontractor, equipment, and other project-related costs.
• Ensuring all project expenses are correctly allocated to the relevant project, cost code, and cost category.
• Comparing actual project costs against budgets, estimates, and approved project values.
• Preparing project cost, profitability, variance, and cost-to-complete reports.
• Monitoring project cost overruns and highlighting significant cost variances and financial risks to management.
• Reviewing and verifying LPOs, purchase invoices, supplier invoices, subcontractor bills, timesheets, and project expenses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in project-based costing and cost control is required.
• UAE accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience in construction, landscaping, swimming pool, or contracting companies is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of UAE VAT, accounting practices, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• UAE Driving License is an advantage.
