About the Role
A Security Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in Google SecOps is needed to architect and maintain telemetry ingestion, develop custom parsers, build SOAR playbooks, and manage platform administration.

Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain ingestion of telemetry from multi cloud and on premises environments using Bind Plane Forwarders, C2C connectors, and Webhooks
- Design, build, and troubleshoot custom parsers (CBN) to normalize non standard log sources into UDM
- Build dashboards to monitor ingestion rates, latency, and data drops
- Design and code automated incident response playbooks in Google SOAR using Python and visual builders
- Build and maintain API integrations between Google SOAR and third party tools
- Automate repetitive manual tasks such as artifact enrichment, evidence gathering, and initial containment actions
- Tailor the SOAR environment to fit SOC’s operational needs
- Monitor ingestion health to ensure no data is dropped and latency stays within limits
- Manage RBAC to ensure analysts have correct access levels
- Manage integration of Mandiant, VirusTotal, and other threat intelligence feeds
- Collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 analysts to tune YARA L rules
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions on UDM Search and Google SecOps interface
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Cybersecurity, or equivalent
- SIEM Certification (Google SecOps, Splunk, Azure Sentinel)
- 3–5 years of hands on experience in Security Engineering, SOC Automation, DevOps, Security Operations, or Infrastructure Security
- Proven experience with Google SecOps (Chronicle) for at least 1 2 years
- Professional experience using Python to automate security workflows or build custom API connectors
- Hands on experience managing security within GCP
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving capability
- Excellent communication skills

Functional Responsibilities
- Data Ingestion and Normalization: Pipeline Management, Parser Development, Data Health Monitoring.
- SOAR & Automation Engineering: Playbook Development, Connector Engineering, Workflow Optimization, Case Management Configuration.
- Platform Administration and Optimization: System Health Monitoring, Access Control, Threat Intel Ingestion.
- Collaboration with SOC Team: Feedback Loops, Requirements Gathering, Training & Enablement.
- Alignment with Infrastructure Team: Data Ingestion Strategy, Agent Deployment, Troubleshooting.
Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
- SIEM Certification (Google SecOps, Splunk, Azure Sentinel).
- Preferred: Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISSP, GCIH.
Skills and Requirements
- SIEM/SOAR Mastery: Proven experience with enterprise grade platforms, at least 1 2 years focused on Google SecOps.
- Coding & Scripting: Professional experience using Python.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Hands on experience with GCP.
- Languages: Python (Advanced), SQL (BigQuery), YARA/YARA L, and Bash.
- Frameworks: MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Tools: Git, Terraform, Docker/Kubernetes.
- Data Standards: Deep knowledge of JSON, Protobuf, and Regex.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving capability.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical findings to non technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a structured, documentation driven mindset.
