Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the organization's safety policy and procedures
- Conduct safety audits and on site inspections to identify workplace hazards
- Educate and train workforce on safety topics such as fire prevention and hazardous materials
- Ensure safety equipment, supplies and resources are available and maintained
- Maintain and analyze records of workplace injuries to identify areas of concern
- Lead fire fighting response and liaise with city fire department if needed
- Conduct Major Internal Disaster and Chemical Spill Drills
- Conduct quarterly meetings with Safety Coordinators and maintain records
Requirements
- Experience in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and emergency response
- Ability to conduct safety audits and on site inspections
- Experience in training staff on safety procedures

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Recommend changes to working policies and processes to ensure safe working environment.
- Devise policies and procedures for fire events, including alarm, fire fighting, and evacuation plans.
- Conduct safety audits and on site inspections to identify workplace hazards.
- Plan and coordinate regular fire drills in all hospital areas per quarter per shift.
- Educate and train workforce on fire fighting, hazardous materials, disaster preparedness, and fire safety.
- Ensure safety equipment, supplies and resources are available in accordance with regulations.
- Take command of hospital fire fighting in affected area and lead response team.
- Maintain and analyze records of workplace injuries to identify areas of concern.
- Identify potential fire and safety hazards and arrange remedial action.
- Maintain inventory of safety equipment such as smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Conduct Major Internal Disaster and Chemical Spill Drills as per JCIA requirements.
- Conduct quarterly meetings with Safety Coordinators and maintain records.
