Responsibilities
- Ensure timely repair of all biomedical equipment and appliances
- Implement Planned Preventive Maintenance scheme for biomedical equipment
- Maintain appropriate stocks of spare parts for biomedical equipment
- Participate in assessment of need and preparation of plans for purchasing new or upgrading equipment
- Recommend new policies and procedures for Biomedical Section
- Supervise performance of external contracts for biomedical equipment
- Monitor and maintain medical gas systems
- Collaborate in preparation of annual budget for engineering services
- Implement departmental policies and procedures and accreditation standards
- Facilitate requirements of Medical Equipment Management Program
- Participate in indicator development and data collection for performance measurement
- Participate in hospital Safety Management & Risk Management Programs
Requirements
- Experience in maintenance of biomedical equipment and appliances
- Knowledge of Planned Preventive Maintenance schemes
- Ability to manage spare parts inventory
- Experience in supervising external contracts for biomedical equipment
- Knowledge of medical gas systems
- Ability to prepare annual budget for engineering services
- Familiarity with accreditation standards (e.g., JCI)
- Experience in incident reporting and root cause analysis

Role Purpose
- Responsible for the maintenance of all biomedical equipment and appliances of Dallah Hospital to ensure patient and staff safety, and reliable, accurate function.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures the timely repair of all biomedical equipment and appliances as required.
- Implements the Planned Preventive Maintenance scheme for biomedical equipment and appliances.
- Maintains the appropriate stocks of spare parts for all biomedical equipment and appliances.
- Participates in the assessment of need, preparation of plans and cost estimates for purchasing new or upgrading biomedical equipment.
- Recommends new policies and procedures with respect to Biomedical Section.
- Supervises the performance of any external contracts for biomedical equipment.
- Monitors and maintains the medical gas systems, procuring supplies of medical gases.
- Collaborates with the biomedical supervisor in the preparation of the annual budget for the engineering services.
- Fully aware and actively implement the departmental policies and procedures, local and international accreditation standards.
- Facilitate requirements of Medical Equipment Management Program relevant to organization wide functions and processes.
- Actively involves in indicator development, data collection for the department.
- Participate in hospital Safety Management & Risk Management Programs.
