Responsibilities
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the KONE safety management system
- Cultivate an understanding and actively caring culture for safety
- Compile, maintain, and improve safety documentation together with the unit safety team
- Actively participate in and contribute to the unit safety committee and other safety forums
- Provide professional advice and support to the unit on matters affecting safety
- Plan, participate in, and implement projects and activities to improve safety
- Work closely with customers and partners, including KONE subcontractors
- Support the development, review, and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans
- Monitor and develop safety risk management processes, tools, and practices
- Collect, measure, and ensure the accuracy of leading and lagging safety data
- Perform safety audits regularly to verify compliance and identify uncontrolled risks
- Analyse and investigate incidents and manage corrective and preventive actions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- NEBOSH certification is mandatory
- 2–5 years of experience in safety, ideally within the elevator industry
- Fluency in English is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills
- Proficiency in problem solving, incident management, auditing, and analytical tasks

Role Overview
- KONE Middle East, Turkey & Africa (KMTA) is seeking a Safety Officer to join our team. This role is based on site in the UAE and will support the Safety Manager in enhancing safety management, understanding, and performance across the designated organizational area.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the KONE safety management system (operating model) including worker, user, and third party safety
- Cultivate an understanding and actively caring culture for safety. Act as a role model
- Compile, maintain, and improve safety documentation together with the unit safety team
- Actively participate in and contribute to the unit safety committee and other safety forums
- Provide professional advice and support to the unit on matters affecting safety
- Plan, participate in, and implement projects and activities to improve safety
- Work closely with customers and partners, including KONE subcontractors
- Support the development, review, and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans
- Monitor and develop safety risk management processes, tools, and practices
- Support safety related change management projects and initiatives
- Collect, measure, and ensure the accuracy of leading and lagging safety data. Report performance
- Monitor legal and business environment development in safety, identify and propose actions
Are You the One?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- NEBOSH certification is mandatory; additional safety certifications are a plus.
- 2–5 years of experience in safety, ideally within the elevator industry.
- Fluency in English is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
- Proficiency in problem solving, incident management, auditing, and analytical tasks.
