Safety Inspector

Safety Inspector’s primary goal is to advocate that ALL actions are accomplished safely both on and off the project.

They will uphold the safety criteria of all companies participating on the project.

The safety inspector will hold safety meetings, both “tailgate” and standard meetings, prepare JSAs, safety related work permits and/or procedures, and maintain records of safety documentation (i.e. “Near Miss Reports, Accident Reports, etc.).

Safety inspector’s responsibilities include the following:

• Reports directly to construction Project Site Supervisor and/or clients Safety Manager
• Maintains the master permit binder for the project
• Completes daily report of activities, as required, and submit to Project Site Supervisor.
• Completes daily reports
• Documents safety compliance and/or infractions in the form of Weekly or Bi-weekly status reports Safety checklists
• Weekly or Bi-weekly status reports
• Safety checklists
• Interacts directly with Third-Party Contractor’s safety representative, foremen, project engineer, and superintendent.
• Consults with and advises the Project Site Supervisor when conditions (such as wet weather) make it advisable to restrict construction activities.
• Identifies and consults with Project Site Supervisor on areas on the project that require special attention.
• Reports noncompliance and problem areas to Project Site Supervisor and/or clients safety management
• Maintains log of all instances of noncompliance, and problem areas including a description of noncompliance, corrective action and effectiveness of corrective action and cost of corrective action.
• Participates in root cause analysis and meetings with client and Third-Party Contractor to review all noncompliance and corrective actions and provide updated training to crews as defined in root cause analysis.
• Shall be equipped with the following: Device with the ability for taking and providing daily pictures as documentation of inspected activities. Daily Logbook for taking daily notes and noting any issues.

• Ability to stand and walk on flat and/or uneven terrain for extended periods of time.
