The Retail Supermarket Receiver is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and verifying all incoming goods delivered to the supermarket.
The role ensures that products received match purchase orders, meet quality standards, and are properly stored and documented to support smooth store operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Receive and inspect all incoming deliveries for quantity, quality, and accuracy.
· Verify delivered products against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes.
· Check product expiry dates, packaging condition, and product quality.
· Report damaged, missing, or incorrect items to management and suppliers.
· Ensure proper storage and handling of received products according to company standards.
· Coordinate with warehouse and store teams for timely stock placement.
· Maintain accurate receiving records and documentation.
· Operate receiving equipment safely and efficiently when required.
· Ensure cleanliness and organization of receiving and storage areas.
· Assist in inventory counts and stock audits.
· Follow company health, safety, and hygiene procedures.
· Support smooth coordination between suppliers, purchasing, and store operations.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
· Minimum 1–3 years of experience in receiving, warehouse, or supermarket operations.
· Basic knowledge of inventory and stock handling procedures.
· Ability to read and verify invoices and delivery documents.
· Good communication and organizational skills.
· Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with inventory systems.
