Role overview
The Reservations Agent maintains effective communication on all reservations to support smooth and efficient service delivery.
The role focuses on guest service, reservation administration, hotel product knowledge, and revenue-supporting activities.
Key responsibilities
- Process and confirm guest room reservations received by phone, letter, or fax.
- Enter reservations into the computer with all pertinent information.
- Respond to inquiries, complaints, and requests regarding reservations.
- Keep current with hotel promotions, rates, confirmations, and facilities.
- Apply product knowledge, rate structures, and rate management practices.
- Maintain correspondence files and prepare reports as requested.
- Promote good public relations and help maximize business.
- Maintain accurate room status and answer calls according to hotel standards.
- Process incoming fax and email information and organize guest visa requests.
- Upsell when an appropriate opportunity is identified.
Education and experience
- Diploma or degree within the hospitality field.
- Previous experience in hotel reservations.
- Computer literacy.
- Excellent written and oral proficiency in English.
- Additional language skills are an asset.
Knowledge and competencies
- Customer-focused, proactive, courteous, and approachable character.
- Ability to work independently within a structured environment.
- Professionalism and effective relationships with internal and external customers.
- Competencies include teamwork, responsibility, adaptability, customer focus, and recognizing differences.
