Main Purpose of the Position
To lead and manage the reliability engineering function, ensuring optimal equipment performance, safety, and operational efficiency through strategic maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Objectives
Strategic leadership and decision-making: To develop and lead the reliability strategy to optimize the performance and availability of critical equipment in gasification and power production.
Predictive and preventive maintenance program oversight: To oversee the implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Equipment reliability and performance optimization: To monitor and analyze reliability data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Data-driven analysis and reporting: To conduct and oversee root cause analyses (RCA) to resolve recurring failures and improve system resilience.
Safety and regulatory compliance: To ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all reliability activities.
Team leadership and development: To lead, mentor, and develop a team of reliability engineers and technicians to achieve operational excellence.
Cross-functional collaboration: To collaborate with cross-functional teams to align reliability strategies with organizational goals.
Continuous improvement and innovation: To drive continuous improvement initiatives by introducing advanced reliability tools, technologies, and practices.
Formal Qualifications/Education
- Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field .
- Preferred
- A master’s degree in Engineering or Management is advantageous .
- Certifications such as Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), or Six Sigma are preferred .
Job Related Work Experience
Essential
Work experience in reliability engineering or maintenance management 10+ Years .
Experience in a managerial or supervisory role 3 - 5 Years .
Preferred
Experience in the energy, gasification, or power generation sector is highly preferred .

Job Related Knowledge and skills
- Comprehensive understanding of reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools
- Advanced
- Expertise in maintenance strategies, such as RCM, FMEA, and TPM
- Expert
- Familiarity with gasification and power production processes and equipment
- Proficient
- Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA)
- Awareness of advanced technologies for predictive maintenance, such as IoT sensors, AI, and machine learning
- Aware
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Advanced analytical skills for data interpretation and decision-making
- Proficiency in reliability and maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS)
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams and stakeholders
