Main Purpose of the Position
To lead and supervise maintenance teams to ensure the efficient, safe, and compliant execution of maintenance tasks for instrumentation, analyzers, and electrical systems.
Job Objectives
Team Supervision and Leadership: To supervise and manage a team of technicians and ensure the efficient execution of maintenance tasks within the IAD/POD/IED division.
Maintenance Task Coordination: To plan, assign, and oversee daily maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and priorities.
Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: To assist technicians in diagnosing and resolving issues in instrumentation, analyzers, and electrical systems to minimize downtime.
Compliance and Safety Enforcement: To enforce strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards during maintenance activities.
Resource Allocation and Management: To ensure the availability of tools, equipment, and spare parts required for maintenance tasks and allocate resources effectively.
Performance Monitoring: To monitor the performance and efficiency of maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion and quality standards are met.
Documentation and Reporting: To maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment performance, and provide reports to supervisors.
Mentorship and Training: To mentor and train technicians to enhance their technical skills and ensure adherence to maintenance best practices.
Formal Qualifications/Education
- Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field
- Preferred
- Relevant qualifications:
- Certification in Instrumentation (e.g., Certified Automation Professional - CAP) or Electrical Safety (e.g., NFPA 70E)
- Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA or NEBOSH) are advantageous
Job Related Work Experience
Essential
Work experience in maintenance, with significant exposure to instrumentation, analyzers, and electrical systems 8-12+ Years
Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred 3+ Years
Experience with 380 KV GIS substations, GCBs, MV switchgear, large power transformers, power cables , power transformers, instrument transformers, batteries & HV motors troubleshooting & repairs
Job Related Knowledge and skills
- In-depth knowledge of instrumentation, analyzer systems, and electrical systems used in gasification and power production, with emphasis on the operations of HV substations made by GE, SEL relays, and the PMS systems
- Expert
- Familiarity with safety standards, regulatory compliance, and maintenance best practices
- Proficient
- Understanding of maintenance workflows and resource allocation
- Aware
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Advanced
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining IAD/POD/IED systems
- Strong knowledge of Power System ( HV , MV systems, SCADA, Protection, Power transformers, GCBs, IPB, Partial Discharge system), along with knowledge of the operations DC systems ( UPSs, ATSs , MCC Switchgears, Batter Chargers, Battery Banks, VFDs, Excitation systems- made by Benning, CEG , SATRON and MV/ VFDs made by Siemens)
- Organizational and time management abilities to coordinate multiple tasks
- Familiarity with CMMS software (e.g., SAP PM) for work order management
