Position Overview
- The Department of Civil Engineering at American University of Sharjah invites applications for a regular or visiting faculty position at assistant, associate, or full professor level commencing Fall 2027.
- Regular position: three year renewable contract; visiting position: one year renewable contract.
Qualifications
- PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Evidence of a significant teaching portfolio.
- Excellence in teaching and research, and experience in the American model of higher education are highly desirable.
- For regular position: specialty in construction engineering and management and/or digital construction.
- For visiting position: any specialty within civil engineering.
About the Department and University
- The Department of Civil Engineering has approximately 150 undergraduate students, 65 graduate students, 15 full time faculty and 2 lab instructors.
- Students and faculty represent very diverse backgrounds and nationalities; approximately 90 nationalities on campus.
- The department offers BS in Civil Engineering, BS in Digital Construction Engineering and Management, MS in Civil Engineering, MS in Construction Management, and PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
