About the Role
Trillium Health Partners seeks a Registered Practical Nurse for the Inpatient Medicine Program at Credit Valley Hospital. You will provide patient-centered care in a dynamic environment, working 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities
- Provision of nursing care for patients within an interprofessional environment, including assessment, treatment, teaching and education
- Teaching and coaching to patients and families
- Commitment to a healthy, safe and respectful workplace
- Practicing in compliance with provincial legislation, hospital policies and procedures; professional regulatory standards; and best practices within the nursing profession
- Maintaining professional competence by completing regular professional development (including annual training/education as indicated)
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized college or school of nursing or equivalent (e.g. certificate RPN with added courses in medication administration, phlebotomy, and health assessment)
- Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or meet eligibility criteria for Temporary Class or General Class
- Able to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- If working in an area with telemetry, successful candidates responsible for obtaining formal certification within six months of hire
- Medication Administration Certificate and experience with administration of medication within the last year required
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience and ability to care for acute patients with specific care needs (IV therapy, medication above/below drip chamber, patient controlled analgesia, Enteral feeds, TPN, transfusion of blood products, central venous access devices, blood glucose monitoring, naso gastric tubes, wound management, skin care, foot care, infection control, normal/abnormal blood values)
- Computer skills including typing, sending and receiving email and working with Microsoft applications such as Word
- A positive work and attendance record is essential
- Minimum of 2 years acute care medical/surgical experience preferred
- Physical assessment course preferred
- Experience working with acute care medicine patient populations (respirology, nephrology, cardiology, geriatric) preferred

Job Description
- The Inpatient Medicine & ICU Program at THP consists of more than 350 beds across CVH & MH.
- Staffed by large interprofessional teams supporting care of complex medicine patients.
- Reporting to a Clinical Manager, the ideal candidate will focus on providing excellent patient centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized college or school of nursing or equivalent.
- Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or meet eligibility criteria.
