Responsibilities
- Provide acute care to complex cardiology patients and post surgical vascular patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure best patient care
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and monitor glucose
- Provide patient and family education
- Work 12 hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized College or School of Nursing; Baccalaureate degree preferred
- Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or eligible
- Current BCLS certification
- Successfully completed Coronary Care 1 course or commitment to complete within six months
- Minimum 1 year acute care medicine/cardiac/surgical experience
- Physical assessment course
- Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, glucose monitoring, NG tubes, wound management
- Positive work and attendance record

Qualifications
- Graduate of recognized nursing school; BScN preferred
- CNO registration in good standing
- Current BCLS
- Coronary Care 1 course completed or within 6 months
- Minimum 1 year acute care medicine/cardiac/surgical experience
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Physical assessment course required
- Experience with IV therapy, blood products, glucose monitoring, NG tubes, wound management
- Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) preferred
- EPIC and computer skills preferred
