Job Purpose

Support the commercial and cost management activities of infrastructure projects by providing quantity surveying, cost control, measurement, valuation, and contract administration support throughout the project lifecycle.

The role will work closely with project managers, engineers, consultants, contractors, procurement, and finance teams to ensure effective cost monitoring, accurate project valuations, appropriate management of variations, and compliance with contractual and commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support quantity surveying and commercial management activities for infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare and review

Bills Of Quantities (Boqs)

, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and pricing schedules.

  • Carry out measurements and valuations of completed works.
  • Review contractor interim payment applications and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in monitoring project budgets, commitments, expenditure, and cost forecasts.
  • Review contractor quotations, rates, and commercial submissions.
  • Support the assessment of variations, change orders, and additional works.
  • Assist in reviewing and evaluating contractual claims.
  • Support the preparation and review of final accounts.
  • Assist with tender documentation, tender evaluations, and commercial comparisons.
  • Monitor project costs against approved budgets and highlight potential cost overruns.
  • Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, contracts, and other project documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of payments, variations, claims, and commercial correspondence.
  • Support contract administration and commercial reporting.
  • Conduct cost and rate benchmarking where required.
  • Coordinate with consultants and contractors to clarify quantities, rates, valuations, and commercial matters.
  • Prepare periodic cost and commercial reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant contractual requirements, internal policies, and government procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in

Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline

.

  • Professional certification or progress toward

Rics And Mrics

or an equivalent qualification is an advantage.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience

in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Commercial Management, or a related field.

  • Practical experience in

infrastructure or civil construction projects

is preferred.

  • Experience with BOQs, quantity measurement, cost estimation, valuations, and cost control.
  • Exposure to variations, claims, interim payments, and final accounts.
  • Experience with tendering and commercial evaluation is desirable.
  • Knowledge of

FIDIC or other standard construction contracts

is preferred.

  • UAE/GCC project experience is an advantage.
  • Government, infrastructure authority, consultant, or major contractor experience is preferred.

Preferred Infrastructure Exposure
