The role supports a digital-first, AI-enabled financial-services organisation being built in the UAE.
The Tech Category Lead owns category planning, business requirements, RFP content, supplier onboarding, and mobilisation for the bank’s technology and digital estate.
Category Management
- Develop category strategies, demand roadmaps, requirements, and supplier-market insight for core banking, cloud, infrastructure, SaaS, data and AI, cybersecurity, payments, and connectivity.
- Define RFP requirements, scopes, service levels, evaluation criteria, and implementation expectations.
- Provide demand forecasts, technology requirements, total-cost-of-ownership inputs, and supplier-market insight for sourcing and contracting.
Evaluation and Onboarding
- Coordinate Technology, Information Security, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and business experts on RFP content and supplier evaluation.
- Own business-side supplier onboarding and mobilisation after appointment, including implementation dependencies and service acceptance.
- Support security and control readiness, operational handover, and early-life performance monitoring.
Governance and Performance
- Ensure onboarding supports outsourcing, information-security, data-protection, resilience, and exit-readiness standards.
- Monitor category performance, service outcomes, consumption trends, and stakeholder feedback.
- Maintain category documentation, RFP requirements, evaluation records, and onboarding evidence.
- Use approved analytics and AI-enabled tools with human validation of outputs.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 8 years of experience in technology category management, technology business procurement, or supplier management within banking or financial services.
- Senior leadership experience for a technology and digital category management team.
- Deep expertise in technology platforms and services, commercial models, software licensing, cloud consumption, cybersecurity, and fintech supplier ecosystems.
- Experience defining technology category strategies, RFP requirements, evaluation frameworks, and supplier onboarding in a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of CBUAE outsourcing expectations and information-security, data-protection, and operational-resilience standards.
- Exposure to AI-enabled procurement tooling, demand analytics, supplier-market insight, and total-cost-of-ownership analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, technology, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- A professional procurement certification such as CIPS or CPSM is preferred.
- CBUAE Fit & Proper and controlled-function eligibility criteria may apply where required.
