Responsibilities
- Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency.
- Maintain cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities.
- Coordinate as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.
- Review purchasing agreements with vendors, monitoring their performance and renegotiating contracts.
- Utilize quarterly and annual data to determine purchasing needs and performing inventory management.
- Manage purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase inventories.
- Coordinate with warehouse team to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies.
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendors.
- Ensure that all purchased materials, equipment, and services comply with relevant regulatory standards and certifications specific to explosive atmospheres, such as ATEX.
- Maintain accurate records of supplier evaluations, inspection reports, quality agreements, and other relevant documentation related to purchased materials and components.
Requirements
- Min. 2-3 years of experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar role.
- Masters’ degree in business administration or relevant or Bachelors in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical).
- Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.
- In-depth knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory and supply management system.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
