Role overview
The Purchasing Assistant supports daily purchasing activities and ensures orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
The role supports the smooth flow of goods and materials through purchasing, supplier, delivery, and documentation activities.
Key responsibilities
- Review purchase requirements and prepare and process purchase orders.
- Request quotations, compare prices and specifications, and coordinate order confirmations.
- Follow up on product availability, quantities, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Communicate purchasing updates to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with purchasing, procurement, finance, warehouse, inventory, logistics, and operations teams.
- Update purchasing systems and maintain supplier and purchase-order records.
- Check invoices and supporting documents, track deliveries, and assist with order changes, returns, and discrepancies.
- Support purchasing reports, supplier documentation, and process-improvement activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in procurement, purchasing, supply chain management, business administration, logistics, operations, or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of purchasing, procurement, supplier coordination, inventory, and supply chain processes.
