The Marine Project Engineer supports the planning, execution, and coordination of marine EPC construction projects.
The role covers engineering, procurement, subcontractor coordination, and site construction activities.
Projects must be delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
Project Responsibilities
- Coordinate marine works including piling, dredging, reclamation, quay walls, jetties, breakwaters, and related infrastructure.
- Prepare and review technical submittals, shop drawings, method statements, material approvals, and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Support procurement evaluations for materials, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
- Participate in planning, resource allocation, and construction sequencing.
- Prepare progress reports, site records, technical correspondence, and project updates.
- Resolve technical and construction-related issues and support project interfaces.
- Support variations, claims, commercial matters, and contractual documentation.
- Attend stakeholder meetings and provide technical guidance to site teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Eight to twelve years of marine construction project experience, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
- Proven experience executing marine EPC projects involving piling, dredging, reclamation, quay walls, jetties, breakwaters, or similar works.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, engineering principles, project coordination, project controls, scheduling, QA/QC, HSE, and construction commercial matters.
- Experience preparing and reviewing technical submittals, method statements, material approvals, and project reports.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Valid UAE Driving License.
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Additional Experience
- UAE or GCC marine construction experience.
- Experience with EPC contractors on large-scale marine infrastructure projects.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.
