Role Overview

The Project Controls Engineer will support planning and project controls for life sciences, pharma, and data centre projects.

The role establishes controls processes and baselines for cost and schedule while monitoring risk, opportunities, change, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Identify trends and root causes of deviations from baseline and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate project time, cost, and quality targets and apply governance controls.
  • Coordinate cost baselines with remote cost managers and guide contractors on schedule and cash flow.
  • Act as a client contact for delivery and commercial issues and prepare project reports.
  • Control costs using conceptual estimating, funding stage gates, contingency, and procurement principles.
  • Prepare cost reports and executive dashboards for financial performance.
  • Lead change management processes and maintain change tracking and approval workflows.
  • Lead planning workshops to develop master schedules, baselines, and critical paths.
  • Coordinate vendor lead times and schedule requirements for materials and equipment.
  • Incorporate project risks into Monte Carlo analysis to quantify cost and schedule impacts.
  • Maintain accurate master schedule updates and hold vendors accountable for reporting.

Skills Required

  • Project controls coordination experience across the full project lifecycle, including programme, risk, and reporting.
  • Specialist experience in life sciences or data centre projects.
  • Ability to recommend corrective actions from data and critical evaluation of information from multiple sources.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and Primavera P6 skills.
  • Excellent service orientation and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong time management, quick thinking, and ability to meet project deadlines.
