Project Control Manager

Role Overview

Project Planning and Scheduling

• Develop, implement, and maintain integrated project schedules using industry-standard planning tools.
• Perform critical path analysis, resource loading, and schedule forecasting.
• Align schedules with contractual milestones, project objectives, and client expectations.
• Identify scheduling risks and constraints and develop recovery plans.

Cost and Progress Control

• Prepare, monitor, and update project budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Track expenditures, analyze budget variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Produce cost reports, forecasts, and financial performance analyses.
• Monitor progress against schedules and budgets and analyze key performance indicators.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project control reports for senior management and clients.

Risk, Change, and Compliance

• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks affecting schedule, cost, and scope.
• Manage change orders and evaluate their impact on project delivery.
• Support contract administration and coordinate contract amendments and claims.
• Maintain project risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Ensure project control processes comply with company standards, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
• Audit schedules, cost reports, forecasts, and project documentation.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the focal point for project controls activities.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, finance, commercial, and legal teams.
• Maintain communication with clients, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Present project performance reports and recommendations to executive leadership.

Experience

• At least 12 years of project controls experience in oil and gas, EPC, civil infrastructure, or power.
• Experience managing project controls for large-scale, complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong experience in planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and progress measurement.
• Experience supporting major EPC projects from initiation through completion.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, business administration, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• PMP certification is required.
• AACE certification such as CCP, PSP, or equivalent is required.
• Primavera P6 certification is required.
• Additional credentials in risk management, scheduling, cost engineering, or project controls are advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, and project control systems.
• Expertise in earned value management, forecasting, cost analysis, and risk management.
• Proficiency in ERP and project management software platforms.
• Strong leadership, team management, reporting, analytical, stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven project environment.
