Construction Manager

Role overview

Project planning and execution

• Develop mechanical construction strategies, execution plans, and resource schedules.
• Review IFC drawings, specifications, and scope documents.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Procurement for timely drawings, materials, and equipment.
• Monitor productivity and achievement of project milestones.

Construction management

• Lead rotating equipment erection, static equipment installation, process piping, structural steel, pressure testing, and pre-commissioning.
• Direct field engineers, supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with schedules, quality standards, and client requirements.

Quality and HSE

• Ensure mechanical works comply with project specifications and international standards.
• Coordinate inspections, hydrotests, audits, approvals, method statements, ITPs, and quality documentation.
• Promote site safety, conduct risk assessments, participate in safety audits, and enforce Permit-to-Work systems.

Cost, risk, and stakeholders

• Monitor construction costs, productivity, material utilization, budgets, and resource optimization.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, resolve technical challenges, and document lessons learned.
• Serve as the primary site interface with clients, contractors, consultants, and project leadership.
• Prepare progress reports covering schedule, cost, quality, and HSE metrics.

Team leadership

• Lead, mentor, evaluate, and develop construction teams.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, and collaboration.

Experience and education

• At least 15 years of Oil & Gas EPC construction experience.
• At least five years in a senior supervisory or managerial position.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• A Master's degree is an advantage.

Technical qualifications

• Experience with rotating and static equipment, process piping, structural steel, pressure testing, pre-commissioning, and mechanical completion.
• Strong understanding of ASME, API, ISO, and ASTM standards.
• Expertise with pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pressure vessels, and process piping.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric, general arrangement, and equipment layout drawings.

Preferred certifications

• PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
• OSHA or another recognized Safety Management Certification is beneficial.
