About the Role
Own the strategy and execution of SpotOn's end-to-end payments experience for hospitality merchants.
The scope includes card acceptance, transaction processing, routing, settlement, funding, reliability, security, and compliance.
Partner with money movement and remittance functions to make merchant funding accurate, predictable, and transparent.
Payments Strategy and Execution
- Own the payments roadmap across card-present and card-not-present hospitality use cases.
- Define acceptance experiences for chip, contactless, digital wallets, ecommerce tokens, and white-label loyalty.
- Simplify refunds, tips, adjustments, partial authorizations, and offline authorization for merchants and staff.
- Improve authorization, chargeback, dispute, latency, and reconciliation metrics through experimentation.
- Partner with risk, compliance, security, and GTM on compliant and differentiated payment capabilities.
- Evaluate capabilities, routing options, and cost optimization with external payment partners.
Money Movement and Leadership
- Coordinate settlement, fees, adjustments, chargebacks, and merchant-facing reporting with money movement teams.
- Align stakeholders around payment vision, roadmaps, and success metrics.
- Balance technical, regulatory, and merchant considerations in cross-functional decisions.
- Communicate risks, dependencies, trade-offs, and progress to senior leaders.
- Mentor adjacent product teams and support accountable, high-quality delivery.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of product management experience, including at least 3 years in payments, fintech, or related financial services.
- Deep knowledge of card-present and card-not-present payment flows.
- Familiarity with merchant processing economics, including interchange and scheme fees.
- Experience with processors, acquirers, gateways, or card networks.
- Strong analytics, dashboarding, KPI definition, and experimentation skills.
- Experience shipping complex technical products with engineering and operations teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with merchant discovery, user interviews, and B2B feedback sessions.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
- The base pay range is $180,000 to $225,000 per year.
- The compensation package may include company stock and offers reflect location, qualifications, and experience.
